Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution (同济医院) is a charitable TCM institution that has been providing free medical care to all since 1867! As part of my NUS module on Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory and Practice, we visited Thong Chai for a sharing session and learnt so much about TCM, from tongue diagnosis and pulse reading (把脉) to Chinese medicinal herbs, acupuncture and cupping. I genuinely had no idea such a place existed in Singapore, and it’s amazing that they’ve been serving the community for over 150 years. So if you or someone you know could benefit from free TCM care, I hope this is a useful resource for you!
