CANADA IS CHANGING, AND PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO SAY IT. It’s a weird feeling walking into Costco, Walmart, or other businesses in Canada and realizing you’re one of the only white people there. Sometimes, you look around and see maybe three or four others. You notice it in certain neighbourhoods, too, where many homeowners don’t appear to be white Canadians. And yes, it’s a weird feeling. I’m not going to pretend I don’t notice it just because people might call me racist for saying it. Immigration has changed the demographics of this country, and it’s happening fast. I believe immigration can be great when it’s done properly. When people are vetted, come here for the right reasons, contribute to society, and genuinely want to become part of Canada, that’s great. But let’s be honest. There are concerns about people taking advantage of our social assistance systems, relying on benefits, and making no effort to integrate into Canadian society. Instead, some seem to expect us to change our way of life to accommodate theirs. We’re seeing Muslim schools opening across Canada, and halal options becoming increasingly visible. Claims are also circulating that Costco is moving towards strictly halal meat, raising questions about consumer choice that deserve clear answers. Let’s remember that Christianity has historically been Canada’s predominant religious tradition. Our history and traditions matter, too. Why does it feel like we’re expected to accommodate every other culture while staying quiet about our own? At what point can Canadians question what’s happening to their country without being labelled racist? Canada is a country, not an experiment in how much change its citizens can be expected to accept without a say. You can support immigration and still believe it needs stricter controls. You can respect other cultures without wanting your country’s identity to disappear. You can welcome people who genuinely want to be here while questioning those who don’t. Why are we expected to stay quiet just to avoid offending someone? Canadians deserve a say in the future of their own country. Period. Like posts similar to this?
