TENDENCIA · BARÉIN · ÚLTIMOS 7 DÍAS

I didn't quit drinking because I suddenly decided it was the brave thing to do. I quit because I was completely fucking exhausted. I was tired of fighting with myself every single day. Tired of waking up with my heart pounding, scared to look at my phone because I didn't know what I might have said or done the night before. I was tired of apologizing for things I couldn't remember, pretending I was fine, and making the same promises over and over again. "Tomorrow I'll stop. Tomorrow will be different." But tomorrow never came. The hangovers got worse, the shame got heavier, and I barely recognized the person looking back at me in the mirror. Even when I could see what drinking was doing to me and the people I loved, I still struggled to stop. That's something people don't always understand about addiction. Knowing you're hurting yourself doesn't mean you suddenly know how to quit. My rock bottom wasn't some big dramatic moment. It was the quiet realization that I couldn't keep living like this. I was mentally, physically, and emotionally done. I didn't get sober because I suddenly became strong. I got sober because I needed to survive. I wanted my life back. And if any of this sounds familiar, please know you're not alone. You don't have to lose everything before you decide you've had enough. You don't have to wait until things get worse to choose a different life. I'm still figuring out life without alcohol, one honest, messy day at a time. No pretending. No perfection. Just showing up sober. If you're walking this road too, come along. We're figuring it out together.
